Back in the “olden days” as my kids would call it, there was no thought spared to what a website would look like on a mobile or portable device. Websites were crude and everything was 800 x 600 and the less colour and imagery, the better it was.

But times are changing and at a rapid rate, not only are more and more people turning to the worldwide web for information and services but more and more are doing so using portable devices, as can be seen from the graphic representation below (courtesy of smart insights)

 

The implications are clear – if you’re not able to reach your audience through mobile search or display, or you’re not providing a satisfactory mobile experience you will miss out compared to competitors who are able to do so.

According to DeviceAtlas there were 4.61 Billion Smartphone users worldwide, which grew from only 2.6 Billion in 2014. That is a massive grown and it continues to climb.

Now the question is:

ONLINE PRESENCE

Do you have an online presence for your business? If not you are pushing yourself into a very dark corner. Not having a website in today’s times is equivalent to having a toy shop in a dark alley of a bad neighborhood.

MOBILE COMPATIBILITY

Do you have a website that is mobile compatible? If not, you might find that when looking at your statistics, that people spend less that 30 seconds on your site, why? Because they go in with a mobile device, cannot see it properly and just leave.
